BREDIS Healthcare Presents Blood Biomarker & Digital Healthcare Research at Asian Society Against Dementia (ASAD)
BREDIS Healthcare Co., Ltd. (Co-CEOs Hyundoo Hwang and Jina Kim) presented its research achievements on blood biomarkers and digital healthcare for the early diagnosis and prevention of dementia at the Asian Society Against Dementia (ASAD), Asia's largest academic conference on dementia. ASAD is a prestigious conference that brings together dementia experts from across Asia to discuss the latest research findings and treatment strategies. This year's conference, held under the theme "Beyond the Limits of Dementia: From Research to Practice," took place from May 8 to 10 at Lotte Hotel World in Seoul. BREDIS Healthcare presented two research findings at the conference. The first was a study on blood biomarkers for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. Based on real-world data from more than 1,000 participants, the study proposed a method for maximizing diagnostic accuracy by comprehensively utilizing phosphorylated tau217 (pTau217) alongside biomarkers related to neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration. By jointly analyzing demographic factors such as age, the research team further strengthened the clinical applicability of blood biomarkers. The second study examined the factors influencing the adoption of digital healthcare technologies for the early diagnosis and prevention of dementia among older adults. Focusing on cognitively healthy older adults, BREDIS Healthcare conducted an in-depth investigation into the factors affecting the adoption of both complementary technologies — which support existing healthcare systems — and transformative technologies — which offer new experiences in health management. The research team suggested that adoption strategies tailored to the characteristics of each technology type could present a new paradigm for healthcare among older adults. BREDIS Healthcare also provides ultrasensitive biomarker analysis, including SIMOA-based testing, in a clean-room environment that complies with global GCLP (Good Clinical Laboratory Practice) guidelines for clinical trial sample analysis. "A significant portion of the blood biomarker analyses behind the research presented at the conference by leading Asian institutions, including the National University of Singapore (NUS), was conducted by BREDIS Healthcare," said Jina Kim, CEO of BREDIS Healthcare. "Building on our world-class research infrastructure, we plan to continue advancing research aimed at the diagnosis and prevention of dementia."
