The 7th Neuroscience Forum for Alzheimer's Disease (NFAD) — Day 2
Day 2 of the 7th Neuroscience Forum for Alzheimer's Disease (NFAD) featured four symposiums with a total of 16 expert presentations. Held in Yeosu, the forum brought together around 200 leading experts in dementia care, including Korea's top clinicians, neuroscientists, biomedical engineers, and industry professionals, for a full second day of intensive discussion. Enthusiastic presentations and Q&A sessions on the latest medical technologies for overcoming dementia continued throughout the day. The third symposium, themed "Proteins and Biomarkers," was chaired by Professor Jungwoong Kim of the Department of Life Science at Chung-Ang University and Professor Youngsoo Kim of Seoul National University College of Medicine. The first speaker, Jina Kim, CEO of BREDIS Healthcare, introduced blood-based biomarker detection technology for Alzheimer's disease and the latest trends in the field. She shared case studies, strengths and limitations, and application examples of ultrasensitive biomarker analysis technology, noting that blood biomarkers hold diverse clinical potential, including use in the early diagnosis of asymptomatic individuals. CEO Kim also expressed her ambition to develop proprietary analysis technology that supports researchers, helping position Korea's dementia research at the forefront globally.
